Review on Topeak Presta Valve Extender by Draven Invert

Perfect for emergencies when you can't get the long stem tube

This product doesn't deserve so much negative feedback. I always have this in my pocket because on a group ride there is always someone with low-profile wheels and a stock tube with a valve stem that is too short. I'm using it and we're on our way. If you have a deep section wheelset it is always better to buy long stem tubes. If you can't find it, the next best option would be a hose with a detachable core and valve extension, where you remove the valve core and reattach it to the end of the extension. There's also the old Zipp style where you had to constantly open and leave the valve open - that was awful. The Topeak extension cord is a much better option, but I only keep it in my bag as a last resort. I ended up on a long gravel road with numerous apartments and had to borrow a whistle from someone in the group. I had a 60mm wheelset but with this extension I was able to use whatever inner tube I could get my hands on. The device screws onto the stem and you simply push down on the brass tip and use friction to open and close the valve. Once inflated, simply close the valve and even remove the extension if you like! Don't tighten this thing like a gorilla, it should be inflated well enough to blow it up. If it leaks a little when you inflate, that's okay - you're still closing the valve under the threads. Yes, the threads are made of soft material, but it helps with compaction. I think this is a fantastic solution and I don't know of any similar product. In fact, I'll be buying two more as I've given mine all away.
