This is probably user error but I thought I should leave this review so anyone with a similar problem as me knows. I bought it to hide the hole that was already drilled in the wall through the doorknob. Spring. This may be obvious to some before purchasing, but it installs with a screw punch down the middle. So if damage is already there, it won't work. So if you search "door handle and wall sign", you will see a round plate of different sizes attached by double-sided tape, which will completely solve your problem. Hope that helps!
