I ended up rebuilding the K40 and found that the original flex steel mounts were simply inadequate and I contributed to a number of issues, particularly when considering how to recalibrate the laser. So these fit the bill. For the head I printed a mount from Thingiverse (this was meant to replace the LightObject lens/mirror head, which worked great simply because it would have more room to adjust). The new laser head and mount (printed at 10% scaling, file disabled for some reason) fit together seamlessly and easily replaced the factory sheet metal gantry. Adjustment is much easier/quicker than standard parts, and they appear to be stiffer compared to the sheet metal system. In general I like it so far.
