Ideal for reduced calorie (low sodium) diets

It's hard to find low calorie foods that fill you up and are low in sodium. This pea protein is great in these areas and many more. I make a quick "soup" for breakfast in a 2-cup widemouth and I'm fine by lunchtime. Here's my basic recipe for you, I'm thinking of calling it "Captain's Pea Soup":--------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- ------ ------------ Ingredients: - 2 scoops of pea powder (1 serving) - 2 packets of "sodium free" "oxwort bars" - then I blend the spice blend but dried parsley, oregano, basil, garlic powder are all good. I even add chia seeds for added texture. I've been freezing caramelized onions in ice cube trays lately, so I'll add a cube as well. Adds a few extra calories but it's worth it. Application: Put everything in a glass and pour boiling water over it. Stir and let stand for about 5 minutes. Mix well again and enjoy. Pretty easy, right? --------------------------------------------- ----- ---------------------------------------------- ----- -- ------------------------------ -------------------------- We're talking less than 200 calories depending on how much onion you add, with less than 200mg of sodium and 30g of protein to keep you feeling full for hours! Obviously you're going to enjoy it less than a steak or something, but it's pretty good considering the trade-off. Sure you want to eat other foods that fill other nutrient gaps, but this is a great way to start your day!
