When I put the first one on a leather guitar strap, the turquoise button in the middle immediately came loose. Uhhh. Anyway I made a rough metal surface underneath and glued it a bit with super glue. I hope the problem is over. It comes with a small screw and washer and I was able to pierce leather about 3/16 thick and tighten it just fine without the washer. If you have a layered leather project, you may need to adjust a leather backing or two to allow the screw to reach the threads on the back of the sink. In any case, it looks good and has a good weight.
