Review on Efficiently Brighten Your Space with Ascher Halogen Equivalent Daylight Non Dimmable Bulbs by Robert Bridgewater

I am surprised by all the very positive reviews for these lamps as there is a significant design flaw. That's it. Instead of focusing the light downwards in the "120° beam angle" as promised, the light spreads out in all directions, including sideways (i.e. about 180°). Having the bulbs flush mounted in a ceiling light like mine creates a very annoying glare when looking up, even if you stand far away from these lights. This doesn't happen with the standard 50W halogen bulbs these LEDs are designed to replace. The reason why this happens is pretty obvious in hindsight. All LEDs are surface mounted, there are no lenses to focus the light. Just look at the pictures of these lamps and then look at the old fashioned standard incandescent bulb. The design flaw is obvious. Needless to say I am returning them and moving on to find something better. I hope this review relieves some buyers of the hassle and frustration I've been experiencing, especially with all the positive reviews.
