These are excellent paper plates. They are more like a light paper plate. I found them to be quite durable and hold hot objects very well. I'm a fan of Scottish meat pies. I put a cake in a preheated 350 degree oven for thirty minutes and then spread it out on one of these plates. No problem. These cakes are heavy and the plate is strong enough to withstand the heat and weight. I used these hot dog plates with chopped onion, tomato, spices and mustard, salt and pepper buns (California gourmet hot dogs) with refried beans and lettuce. This paper plate did it all. I was hesitant at first after reading some of the negative reviews but figured I had nothing to lose as they are reasonably priced and went with them. They will have a permanent place in my closet.
