More expensive but better made than others

Disclaimer: I have installed and used Grip Puppies on another bike I own. However, I bought them for a new bike I just bought as I tend to stick with what I know works well. I like grip puppies for several reasons: - They are really comfortable. I've found that when I have Grip Puppies on my grips, I don't feel the high frequency vibrations in my hands. They are very easy to install. I had no trouble installing them on two bikes to be honest. I had to cut them off especially on the new bike, but they slipped off easily thanks to the suggestion of putting a few drops of dish soap in the Grip Puppies and on the handlebars. I didn't try to pull and snap them into place or quickly tighten them. Instead, I let the soap reduce the friction points, which sometimes took a few seconds. Seriously, just use a few drops of dish soap in the Grip Puppies and on the handlebars; Small things have a big impact. Too much soap will just make a mess that's harder to clean up after the job is done (an oxymoron, I know). They don't absorb all of the heat from the heated grips, so your hands stay cold. I have found that even when the temperature is low, the Grip Puppies transfer a lot of heat to my hands. It's really valuable when I'm driving to work at 80 mph and 35 degrees Fahrenheit. This extends the service life of the heated grips. I've replaced heated grips on three different bikes about every 20,000-30,000 miles. That can quickly become expensive. Installing Grip Puppies over heated grips is an inexpensive way to extend the time between heated grip replacements. When they are worn out and they wear out, they are easy to remove and new grips can be fitted. If you don't find that they don't give you the same benefits, just remove the grip pups. As a bonus, you only get a small amount of money as opposed to the large amount of money you would spend exchanging factory grips.

Pros
  • Soft, compressible and tactile grip for a more comfortable ride
Cons
  • Legacy model
