Perfect for 2001 Subaru Forester

While changing the oil I noticed a removable boot on my Forester for kids. I ordered this part overnight and it arrived on time and in good condition. Installation wasn't difficult, the hardest part was swinging between putting the boot on and tightening the large yoke that is included. I chose not to remove the rod end of the rod, which is the correct way to install it, but then alignment would need to be checked. Instead I put a plastic bag over the tie rod, oiled it and put my boot on. It was a little fiddly, but using a flathead screwdriver to fix it, I managed. I reused the old small end spring clip in place of the included loop wire. The tight quarters made it difficult to put on a big clip, but again, it's doable. To remove the tie rod end I used a special tool that you can get for free at any car dealership. The quality of the boot is very good and the clips provided work well, no problems installing them. FYI, the tie rod locknut torque is 20 ft/lbs.
