I'm a big fan of these meteor shower style lights. We have several of these lights in our front trees. I love how light and purple they are. You who really love your purple hues will see what I mean. No, you can't change the "soul speed" of these lights, but I'm fine with that. I really appreciate how light they are and that I can easily string several together and not have to thread as many plugs back into the trees. Because they are so light, I was afraid they might stand up in bad weather. Well we've had some pretty crazy winds and rain and they're still strong. The wind was so strong it knocked over my wooden sign which is in the same tree as these lights. Think they will last for many years with no problem.
