I needed to put up a vapor barrier in my basement so I decided to spend a few extra dollars and buy a hammer stapler instead of a hand stapler. Boy was I glad I did that! Hanging the plastic took half as long as usual. After a few seconds I was able to walk down the line and fire the staples. It was so easy and, dare I say, a little addicting. As a result, I went too far with the number of brackets. Not only is it faster, but it's also more ergonomic - a traditional construction stapler requires a strong grip to fire. This requires a fairly light swing. The only downside is that you can't be too precise with the position.
