Review on Dorman 74015 Brake Pedal Accelerator Stop: Enhanced Performance and Safety Solution by Nikith Brewster

Perfect fit for a 1999 Nissan Maxima

These brake pedal pads seem to wear down with age or abuse. Upon closer inspection I saw that parts of the original rubber piece had deteriorated to the point of crumbling, particularly at the base of the rubber piece which allowed it to fall off the metal body where it fitted. The new part was a breeze. While the whole surgery took about 15 minutes, I spent most of my time walking to the car, making sure I had a flashlight (I changed it early in the evening), and struggling to press the brake pedal down with one hand, while trying to insert a new piece. If I had to do it all over again, I'd have an assistant push me while I use both hands to concentrate on inserting the rubber piece. I lay on my back in front of the driver and looked up. As far as I can tell, there's not much you can do to make this process more convenient. Aside from the weird warps you have to do to access this area, I'd say this is a beginner's difficulty fix. In the end the part fitted my 1999 Nissan Maxima perfectly.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • It's fine
