Excellent equipment. Buy more to keep as a reserve.

I didn't even know such a thing existed. Perfect fit for my '98 Honda Civic. The original fell apart on my clutch pedal so I couldn't start the car. The installation was difficult due to the location. When we arrived the car started straight away. I bought a spare to have on hand. Almost exactly a year later, my brake lights wouldn't go out. Look at the bottom panel and you'll see another one of those things disassembled. So I used a spare tire to replace the one on the brake pedal. This was…

Perfect fit - easy install in 1 minute with no tools

Works great and feels solid. I was nervous ordering this part because so many people have had trouble installing the fork. I was able to do this in under a minute with no tools and want to share what I did. 1) Prepare a seat - tilt the steering wheel up and slide the seat back. 2) Stand under the steering wheel. 3) Wet thumb and forefinger of left hand - plug is slippery right hand 5) With left hand place plug under light stop so the "arrow" enters the hole on the brake pedal. 6) Slowly release

Worked on my '96 Honda Accord LX

Late one night I got a call from my college sister who drives my old '96 Accord and said the brake lights on the Accord wouldn't go out. I asked them to pull the brake light fuse to keep the battery from draining and put an end to it so I could do a little research the next day. Googling, I found this little derailleur stopper to be the culprit (she found some old broken plastic on the floor under the brake pedal). This is a very simple installation that takes less than 10 minutes and…

If your brake lights are stuck, check the pedal stop!

When I left work I found that my car battery was so weak that even the interior light wouldn't come on. I put in a makeshift battery and went home. I found my brake lights were on all the time. I recently pulled some audio equipment out of the trunk and ripped out the old cables. I was pretty sure I had damaged the brake cables in the process. In my whole life I could not find a short circuit or a problem. I don't know why I decided to check the brake pedal, but it was: small pieces of plastic…

Perfect fit for a 1999 Nissan Maxima

These brake pedal pads seem to wear down with age or abuse. Upon closer inspection I saw that parts of the original rubber piece had deteriorated to the point of crumbling, particularly at the base of the rubber piece which allowed it to fall off the metal body where it fitted. The new part was a breeze. While the whole surgery took about 15 minutes, I spent most of my time walking to the car, making sure I had a flashlight (I changed it early in the evening), and struggling to press the brake…

Quality, inexpensive replacement for the original

Strange that this part is needed at all as its only purpose is to make room on the brake pedal lever for a brake light switch which can be pushed down when the brake lever itself could be up be easy to do in eternity. But one engineer felt it was necessary, so here we are. The OEM version of this part costs 3-4 times as much, and let's face it, it's nothing more than a glorified thumbtack. There's little that can be wrong other than it breaking into small pieces prematurely, so this is a good…

Why isn't this part made of metal and attached in the right place?

I don't know much about car repairs. I'm the person who makes the noise the car makes when I take it to the mechanic. I'm trying my best to learn car maintenance but to be honest I'm not very good at it. If I can really fix something, I'm very proud of myself. I received this item and tried to put it in the small hole where the previous one fell out. I used my car so I assume what I had to replace was the original. The internet video wasn't very helpful on how to replace it or where it actually
