Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Effortless CD/DVD Label Printing with Primera Signature Z1 Printer by Matthew Fadoul

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Don't worry, the printer is fragile and prone to failure

I replaced a Casio CD-100 CD printer with this one because I needed more than the two print areas that Casio offers - big mistake! At first the printer worked great and I was happy. I should have known something was wrong the first time I took the printed CD out of the printer and the spindle came out with the CD?! Reconnected and everything seems fine. When I got to the end of the tape it continued to make some unusual noises instead of telling me to replace the cartridge but continued to print. The only way to know when the tape needs replacing is if nothing is printed on the CD. I changed the cartridge. The end of the ribbon film that the printer should have seen but didn't see. Since then, the print has been uneven, some areas have completely faded. Replacing the tape didn't help either. Worse still, the print areas are no longer properly aligned! Primera didn't help, apparently didn't want to swap the printer so I gave up. I will either go back to Casio or use LightScribe.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Poor performance
