I gave him five stars because after I got used to it and didn't care about the little things and the wrong "up to 40 hours " advertising, find this gentleman to be an excellent quiet device that affects the 400 SF space and increases humidity. Let's start with the cons: 1. The instructions that came with the Gentleman and the Revain website say "up to 40 hours". Well, you might as well say up to 100 years because both will be true, but neither will be real. I filled the water tank and ONLY turned it on in low crap mode. Exactly 27 hours later the tank was empty. Yes it worked great, very quiet and efficient for 27 hours straight! So 40? Not in this world, whatever you do with it. Of course it works even less on medium and high settings, but I only stopped on low.2. In one of the pictures I've added here you can see that due to condensation there is water on the top of the unit (mist nozzle) which needs to be removed before you remove the top to lift the water tank, otherwise you will have to water on your bedside table, bed, table or wherever you placed the device. This is not a shortcoming but something I would like to draw your attention to. Place a small paper towel next to the block.3. The essential oil tray pops out a fraction of an inch when squeezed and cannot be easily pulled out. I had to pull out the small tray after another reviewer remarked that they had the same issue. After pressing the tray, it fully extends (see two attached pictures) and you can add a few drops of essential oil. Benefits: 1. One gallon of water in the tank allows for long operation (up to 27 hours).2. The device is very quiet and does not take up much space on the bedside table.3. The fog setting levels (Low, Medium, High) have a one-touch switch and you can't turn off the device unless you've cycled through all three levels, even if you're only using the low fog setting. The manual states that if you touch the power button within three seconds, the LIGHT on the button goes out, but not the device. This is actually a good thing, as the button's blue light can be turned off, especially if you leave the device on all night. The device has an automatic shut-off sensor that turns off the device when there is no water in the tank.5. The instructions are easy to understand, even if it incorrectly claims that the device can run "up to 40 hours". There is an explanation of how to clean the tank, unit, etc.6. As you'd expect, Mister works best with distilled water - that's what the manual says, and I'm aware of it from the various types I've used in the past. Do not use tap water. Can I recommend it? Yes. He does what he has to do.
