Review on 🚣 BXI Propeller's Safety Cage: Ultimate Protection against Trolling Motor Propeller Damage & Aquatic Obstructions for Canoes, Kayaks, and Boats by Derrek Fields

However, it does a credible job.

Don't expect this to be the answer to your prayers. I have 2 kayaks and John's boat on the edge of a swamp preserve in Palm Beach County, Florida. it is literally a place where "a river flows". In this case Loxahatchee. Loxahatchee is home to many swamps and beautiful wetlands en route from mid-state's Lake Okeechobee to the Atlantic Ocean. The problem is that normal vegetation like water lilies are no longer a problem at all. The "cage" pushes these "native" plants aside and prevents soiling of the base. HOWEVER, there is another type of vegetation that comes from manure runoff - mainly the golf courses I'm on. This material, unless regularly sprayed by the Florida Water Authority, will quickly become impenetrable - even for kayaking! It only floats an inch below the surface, so it's not hard to see and avoid - it's like glue. So while it's inexpensive and certainly worth the money and effort to fit it to your trolling motor, it's not a cure-all for all shallow-water sailing problems! Be careful if you don't want to lean over the boat's transom and pick out weeds that have wrapped around the driveshaft and caused your Jon Boat to become stuck in the water. I've fallen more times doing this acrobatics than I'd like to admit.
