Review on πŸ“ž Ooma Telo Plus Linx - Smart Home Phone Service With Wireless Accessory and Remote Phone Jack by Barbara Majdoch

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good system but be careful

This is my first review after using Ooma for about 3 weeks. I will update if necessary. My early rating would be 4.5 stars. I'm a cool grader! I bought a device - an Ooma Telo device PLUS a wireless Linx device. You need Linx if you want to connect multiple phone systems. In my case I have a system with 3 handsets and another separate phone. My purchase of the service - I chose the Premier service from the start because I liked the extra features. Still cheaper than my old phone company. Good / Bad / Advice --* RECORD / Document all your interactions with Ooma in case something goes wrong. I prefer the chat where I can take screenshots.* Setup - Read and follow the instructions carefully!* It's perfectly fine to buy a service online without using a reseller BUT know exactly what you're doing beforehand want. Communicate earlier with Ooma representatives.* This allows you to select a phone number when setting up Ooma at purchase. Relax! If you are porting your old phone number, no problem, because you have two phone numbers! When your old number is fully ported, that ported number becomes the primary number and the new number becomes the secondary number. BOTH call your Telo, but the default number for outgoing calls is the primary number.* If you are redirected via a landline number, this will take some time (up to 2 weeks). DO NOT CANCEL your old landline service until about a day AFTER the transfer is complete. Make sure it works!.* DO NOT USE YOUR OLD TRANSFER NUMBER AS AN ADDITIONAL PHONE NUMBER DURING THE FIRST TIME SETUP. WHEN THE PORTING IS COMPLETE, THE FUNCTIONALIZATION WILL BE LOST! In that case, you need to call Ooma and ask them to make changes (they can do it). cannot lift the line to another of your phone systems to join this call. You have to give them the phone from the system you used to answer the call. Overall, I really like Ooma so far. Lots of interesting features.
