Fur is not recommended.

I would not recommend this to anyone in need of a new peephole. I already had one installed on my front door. The sight glass broke and I needed a replacement. Since my door already has one of these, I can only replace it with the same one due to the size of the hole. This was quickly remedied with the new glass, but the image is a bit washed out and does not produce a sufficient wide angle. If I had a new door I wouldn't buy it. FYI, don't look inside like a traditional peephole. You have to stand back and watch. However, it's a bit confusing.
