Wow. They far exceed the specs. See photos - still emitting a useful glow 26 hours after activation. photos after 26 hours; at 12 o'clock it was quite bright. At 26 o'clock there was enough light to see the pictures and read the small text. Of course it fades, but okay - 26 hours, and it is designed for 12? It's just insanely good. Important: The stick was kept at room temperature (about 75F) the whole time; There was NO artificial cooling (e.g. in a fridge/freezer) or temperature reduction (e.g. outdoors --> cooler night) to prolong the chemical reaction. Lowering the temperature is a "trick" that can be used to extend the life of the lamp. This was not done. Note: I'm really sorry for the people who wrote one star reviews because the wands they received seem to have expired and are quickly disappearing. i believe you i believe What a tragedy when a person uses (and relies on) one of these in an emergency, only to find that it goes down to zero after about 90 minutes. It's a crime. Because of those one star reviews, I tested one out of ten in my batch. It lit up instantly, was "bright" (how bright a glowstick can be, I guess!) and was strong at 12 hours. I wanted to vouch for this product and also thank the 'bad batch' reviewers who encouraged me to try them BEFORE the emergency. I'm so sorry you had rare wands that didn't fit.
