I've seen KVM switches in my day but never anything like it! Cybex isn't kidding. This switch is not for the casual user or even the moderately serious user. This is an extremely reliable and dependable switch. To be clear, this is not a network switch. This device simply exists so that you can connect multiple computers to one monitor. I work on 2-3 IT consulting contracts at the same time, all with different company computers. I used to connect them all to separate monitors on my desk. Now I connect them all to one monitor and toggle between the computer towers on the monitor by pressing the soft button on the outside of the Cybex KVM switch. This particular switch has old style DVI inputs. You may prefer an HDMI or DisplayPort input, or some other video input. Well, Cybex has variants of the same hardware device that support these inputs. But when you buy this switch, all four ports must be the same type of video input. Of course you can buy adapters to get around this, but that's annoying. There is support for the legacy PS2 mouse port and USB ports. Each of the four video inputs also has a corresponding audio jack - love this feature! All in all, it's probably a lot more than you need. But if top security is a priority when switching between computers on a desktop monitor, this is your ride.
