I was surprised when I picked up this tripod and set it up. I've seen folding legs filled with elastic rope before. Okay this works pretty well and I managed to get a nice picture. Here's a warning. The picture with the frame was a bit heavy, which caused the legs to bend. I think we've reached the upper limit of what he can hold. The deck assembly was a mistake. It only took a light breeze to blow the thing off. The painting has landed on the floor and you can see where the corner pieces of the frame broke off in the top right corner. So I'd say this tripod isn't designed to hold large, heavily framed paintings out there on deck. Use it indoors. The advantage of art tripods is that you can display and move your pictures and don't have to drill holes in the walls. I try to avoid nail holes in my house which is why I like this tripod.
