Review on πŸ’Ύ High-Performance Intel 40GB X25-V MLC Solid-State Drive - Retail Box SSDSA2MP040G2R5 by Mitch Garrido

Why have I waited so long?

First off, I HATE Intel. I am an AMD woman!. and as much as pride in Intel's greedy ass kills me, I have to give credit when it's needed. I looked at many other discs before buying this one but the other disc reviews left a lot to be desired so I chose two of these and am so happy I did. I bought two of these and put them in RAID 0. Together they work BETTER than the more expensive single 80GB drive. When I first took them out of the box, I disabled AHCI and flashed each of the Intel drives with the latest firmware. Then I set up RAID 0 and started installing Windows 7 Ultimate X64 which took about 8-10 minutes to install. Next I went to VEI and these wheels give a solid 7.9! My overall WEI is now 7.3 due to my stock AMD Phenom II 940 Black Edition processor. I haven't run any tests yet, but will do so later. So far I'm VERY happy with these bikes. I store all my games on my 2X74GB Raptor rig and use a 500GB WD Green Drive to store porn, movies, game files etc. Now I love my system more than ever. Waiting for things to load is a thing of the past. I'm so upset that I waited so long to get one of these. OK, two in my case. For anyone reading reviews and wondering if they should get one or not. DO IT! You will be completely satisfied with your purchase. Windows boots in 14 seconds! Turns off in 6 seconds! These drives laugh at applications. I installed Crysis on discs and the load times are better. Not much better, but still better. Everything else I do is SIGNIFICANTLY faster! I think I can even hold back on these drives due to SATA II's 300MB limit. I can't wait for someone to make a SATA III controller card that supports RAID 0 so I can actually see how these drives really work.
