Review on CIPA 45292 Manual Replacement Passenger by Nick Mahoney

Revainrating 4 out of 5

HAPPY! (with reservation).

I was a little hesitant after reading a review that said the mirrors "make his truck look cheap". I don't know what he was talking about, as far as I can tell they are complete copycats of the original mirrors. (Unless they were brand new). The crease in the design works smoothly, which is important to me as I've been looking for a replacement from the start. (They didn't work out when my teenage nephew came across them). So this time I will remember to install and remove them from time to time and lubricate them when needed! The only thing holding me back from 5 stars are two small things. Firstly, I agree with a review that said the screws and bolts could be of better quality and if I have to remove them in the future I'd prefer they didn't rust in place. I also preferred the Torx (Torx) screw heads that Ford used over Phillips screws, since someone walking around is much more likely to carry a Phillips screwdriver than a Torx screwdriver. (Reuse original equipment, problem solved!) Secondly, the mirror adjustment moves too smoothly for my taste, since, like with most old trucks, you usually have to slam the doors to adjust the alignment. I believe mother nature will take care of that as some road grit etc gets into the moving parts and they naturally harden. I'm pretty sure the hardware issue is an attempt to lower the price, so I understand it's not a problem as my original was still in good condition. In general I am satisfied with the purchase, I recommend it to my friends!
