I was hoping to have the same success as most of the positive reviewers. Unfortunately this was not the case. And I understand that "reviews" can sometimes be misrepresented, and I try to keep that in mind. I bought a power supply for a specific purpose by charging my lithium jump box. It charges both via USB (at 2.1 amps) and much faster from a 12 volt source (at 5 amps). Before I received this unit I was using a 12v outlet from another SLA jump box. However, this resulted in both the SLA adapter box and the lithium adapter box being charged at the same time when the SLA box was plugged into an outlet. It worked, albeit more slowly than I would have preferred. So I decided to buy this AC-DC adapter, so I just charged the lithium adapter box by myself. Enough amperage to run any 12 volt tool/device I have. So I bought a 20 amp model. My original use, of course, was to charge a lithium jumpbox. I had it on the adapter for almost 24 hours without a full charge. I was disappointed as I thought it should have worked much better (4-5 hours max). But I put it aside and in the last few days (and a week after my return window closed) I went again to charge the lithium jump box. This time I inserted a "Kill-A-Watt" meter between the outlet and the AC. - DC adapter plug to see what's going on. The Kill-A-Watt is a very handy and easy to use device, although I'm not sure how accurate the readings can be. Anyway, I've seen this 20 amp AC-DC adapter only put out 0.3 amps. That was incredibly short of the 5 amp range I was expecting. Even the USB port for charging the lithium adapter drew 1.5-2 amps. I thought maybe the "Kill-A-Watt" meter is defective or just plain inaccurate. So I checked these results with a line splitter between the AC/DC adapter and the outlet and read them with a Fluke clamp meter, a much more accurate tool than the Kill-A-Watt meter. But surprisingly, it also only showed 0.316 amps being drawn from the AC-to-DC adapter. It was indeed a "half test". I also decided to test it on another known amperage. I have a 12 volt auto vacuum that is rated for 8 amps when used. I again used both a Kill-A-Watt meter and a Fluke line splitter/meter. The 20 amp AC-DC adapter only put out about 1.3 amps with the vacuum on, even when I blocked the vacuum input, which should have increased the current drawn. So, once again, the 20 amp AC adapter fell well (much) below its advertised specifications. The good news was that the Kill-A-Watt meter was surprisingly accurate. I really recommend the Kill-A-Watt counter to everyone. This is an inexpensive and surprisingly accurate device. The bad news was that the new AC-DC adapter was useless, obviously a waste of money and I discovered this about a week after the return window closed. . First, I strongly recommend that anyone who buys one of these AC-DC adapters test it thoroughly before closing the return window (regardless of which Ampere model you buy). this device?) really follows these reviews and responds responsibly. I can agree that from time to time there will be 'bad' devices that make their way to consumers. That doesn't mean it's a bad product overall, though. If this unit was "bad" and Alitove customer service attempts to fix this frustrating experience, I will update this review accordingly. In fact, "bad" units are sometimes a fact of life. But in my opinion, the excellent customer service more than makes up for the bad experience. Good customer service is cost effective when it makes up for bad reviews that might make another customer think twice before buying their product.
