Has a nice tight weave that is easy to embroider. It felt a bit stiff at first, but as I started sewing it softened. I like the detail between the squares. The only "complaint" is that the squares are supposed to be 6 inch squares, and they really aren't, so you'd better center the design carefully if the design is 5.75 x 5.25 for example!
