Review on 🚲 Thomson Elite Bike Seatpost by Andrew Grant

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the best posts!

Love this Thompson post! The way it is made is worth every penny of its cost. Unfortunately, after 12 years, the very expensive carbon seatpost began to crack and fail. Luckily for me it didn't break, but I didn't want to tempt fate and get another coal post. The Thompson Post is very easy to set up. To raise the backrest, tighten the rear screw. Do the reverse to raise the nose of the saddle. Front-to-back adjustment is also easy. Simply loosen both screws a little to move the saddle into place. There is a micrometer scale on the post so you can repeat your setup if for whatever reason you need to remove the saddle and later reattach it to the same spot. Because this post is seated in a plastic sleeve in my titanium seat tube, no lube or anti-seize was required. I think a drop of lube is required when getting into a steel or aluminum frame that doesn't have an insert.

Pros
  • Solid surface
Cons
  • Nothing here
