Review on ZENY Airbrush Compressor Airbrushing Multipurpose by Sasha Hsiao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive working compressor with a bad adapter that leaks and breaks but otherwise a great product

Bought this for my airbrush to paint miniatures. The price was great and the operation was relatively quiet. The instructions for assembling the regulator and adjusting the pressure on the regulator are not very clear. A little moderate Googling will help you though. The only real problem is the adapter from the tank to the regulator. After assembling mine I noticed that the water trap on the regulator isn't pointing down if you want it to be anywhere near tight and after some research on the internet it's safe to assume the water trap actually won't work, unless it's pointing relatively down, and you can see in the photo where the fit on the regulator starts to get even a little tight. My first attempt at adjusting it was just using an obscene amount of Teflon tape, which didn't really help, and it still tightened in much the same place and leaked on the bubble test. Then I just let the regulator point down, but it licked like crazy. My second thought was to just solder the adapter from the tank so the regulator can be screwed in and positioned correctly. Well, at this point I've broken one crescent wrench and bent the other, and the hex on the adapter is almost to the point of breaking. The thing just doesn't seem to move. So now I am negotiating with the manufacturer (Zeny) and waiting for their answer. It has been 2 days since my first contact with them and I have been referred to their technical product support to await a response. If I get an answer from them and a fix or fix I will update my review but for now I would recommend spending more money or looking for another product if you need a working airbrush compressor. As I will be returning this in a day or so and looking for another brand. **Edit/Update** I was able to speak directly to Zeny support and they were actually very helpful and open. Response time was longer than I would have liked and they were unable to provide tech support as their tech support was not working until mid-February, which some people might find very disheartening, but whoever I spoke to was open and frank how and what they could help me. I just secured the original compressor on the above adapter with a disgusting amount of teflon tape, about 4 times what I used before, which I think is like 4-5mm thick teflon tape on the adapter, but it works well enough and Zeni support was willing to send me any other details I thought I might need. So all in all I would recommend it now. However, keep in mind that you might need a bit more work to get it working.
