The box says hardened steel but I'm wondering how hardened it is. One of the 1 star ratings showed that it took a brave blunder a few seconds to cut through part of the U-lock. It's definitely not $120 extra thick kryptonite, and it doesn't include bike theft insurance. But it's $22 and comes with a cable for the seat and front wheel, and my bike is only $60. However, I like the setup! The small size makes it much easier to install while driving. This is a big problem for this girls bike as others would block the middle. It fits perfectly on the front wheel. The smaller padlock gives thieves less room to work. I hope they just steal the next bike with a $12 lock. Conclusion: A very good setup for €22. A thief needs the right tools to take them down and the smaller size is a real plus. Let's see how he handles the UC colleges bike theft epidemic!
