Review on πŸ”Œ 1800 Watts Voltage Protector for Refrigerator: Optimized for Brownout and Surge Protection by Leo Fairchild

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It works as intended, especially the delay feature.

Actually works as intended. I would think of this primarily as a delay mechanism after a power failure rather than surge protection. in progress. I had a 30 second and it did the job. There are times when the device turns off and on multiple times until it stays on. This will prevent the connected device or any other device from receiving power again during the 3 minute delay time. I believe most power surges occur when they are on. enabled after shutdown. So this delay time is a good idea. I connected this item to our "high tech" washing machine and it worked with a delay start for a period of delay. Personally I wouldn't use it for a fridge as most of the time you can't tell if the device is working properly because it's behind the fridge. If the unit fails on its own, as some reviews have mentioned, you could lose the contents of the fridge. It wouldn't be good and not worth the risk. In this case, only a high-quality surge protector will work better, because if it fails, it will not turn off the power, only the protection is gone. My surge protector has been working great for about 10 years now. Weeks in the washing machine, but we'll have to see in the long term. After all, these devices must have a long service life so that the installation is worthwhile. But so far so good. I also have a whole house surge protector that I recommend. So the joule rating is not that important to me, although I still use surge protectors on my electronic devices like computers and flat screens. after a severe power outage. This will prevent the device from cycling on and off when the power supply flickers.
