Review on 🔬 AmScope SM-3BZ-80S Binocular Stereo Microscope with WF10x Eyepieces and LED Light Source - 3.5X-90X Magnification, Single-Arm Boom Stand (110V) by Maurice Malek

Overall I got a product that is worth what I paid for it. The picture quality is amazing and the overall design is perfect. NB: The product description says "3.5x to 90x continuous zoom with excellent flatness and contrast" - but they don't say that the actual zoom range of the microscope head is 7-45x and that you can get a 0 .5x lens to get 3.5x-22.5x, or 2.0x lens to get 14x-90x. You don't get a continuous range of 3.5x-90x, which makes sense in hindsight. Too bad I didn't know that beforehand, otherwise I would have opted for a different configuration. While I really wanted a 90x magnification, I needed the volume to even be able to work with electronic circuit boards. If I needed a microscope purely for whiteboarding, I'd be better off spending a little more for a 3.5x-45x 3D trinocular arm with a 144-LED zone ring light. (SM-4TX-144A) This product comes without instructions. The single photocopy of the flyer pointed to a URL where the manual should be, but at the time of writing, AmScope seems to have redesigned their website and I couldn't find the manual anywhere on the site. After a few failed attempts, I really figured out how to put it all together and figured out the purpose of the 0.5x and 2.0x lenses. I wish they would add at least a 1.0x magnification lens to act as a protective lens for the main optics. Overall a great product and deserves 5 stars. But I'll give them a half star for their misleading product description and another half star for the lack of a manual. I hope AmScope adequately addresses both issues. --- UPDATE 2014-02-25: Amsco provided a link to the user manual (see comment on this review). happy with my purchase. I've used 1/2X and 2X lenses well for different jobs, so I'm much happier with extra lenses than I was originally. (I still think the description could be clearer about the magnification range.) I reject it, which is why the product has 5 stars. But now I really regret spending a little more and getting a trinocular with a double boom stand. I had several times when I wanted to take a picture of my workpiece.
