This Belkin 3.5 iPhone XR plugin works great. Much better than the black feather type. After 5 months it still works fine. Short length is good. My 2007 Honda CRV sounds great. I would buy again if I needed another one. Every once in a while I have to unplug and plug it back in, but the iPhone is probably locked somehow. Don't assume the Belkin cable is the problem.
