Masking tape if you want to remove it

Putting rubber on things is fun. I think things are working fine. It sticks well and the smell was there, but really from a roll of fabric. I didn't notice any odor when I cut a small piece to put on the back of the item and removed the large roll. The material is thin and stretches easily. Difficult to cut a square piece and get a crisp and clean square when attaching the elastic to the back of the item (because of the stretch). In fact, resilient rubber isn't always a bad thing; it easily sticks to surfaces. It is light and not very resistant to all types of abrasion. However, I had to scratch it pretty hard with my fingernail to show wear. It's durable enough for regular use on drink coasters, remote controls, etc. Although it's sticky, I had no problem putting it on easily and then pulling it up to move it. There seems to be a "grace period". However, the material sticks like glue after a while. If you change your mind about using the rubber on the back of your TV remote, it will be difficult to remove. TAPE IDEA: I stick rubber on tape and then cut out my square or other shape and then stick tape with rubber on the back of my object. This keeps the rubber piece in shape and looking good while I insert it, and also makes it easier to remove. The tape should stick well to the back of everyday objects such as calculators, TV remotes, etc. Trouble is, I had already gummed everything on my list before I thought about it. Sticking rubber to things is fun.
