I have used a Makita cordless drill/driver with clutch for screwing in patio construction. The batteries couldn't handle too many screws, so I settled on a Black & Decker DR203K. This drill is great for driving 2 1/2" screws into TREX panels. My 12' x 13' deck holds over 500 screws, so having a corded drill with a clutch is great. The motor is powerful and stays cool when drilling 1" holes in 4x4 racks. The locking spindle makes it easy to tighten the drill bits. The drill may not be suitable for professional use, but it seems perfectly adequate for casual use. For $40 you can't beat it and it comes with a 2 year guarantee!
