I was an NCAA swimmer. I've swum at least 3 days a week for most of my life. This is the best suit for anything but competition and even then they still work. Chlorinated pools? jacuzzi? Swimming in open water? Do you wear them under shorts to the beach? However! I stopped worrying about what I had done to them. I have a black pair and a blue pair. At the moment the blue couple is 4 years old. There has been some fading but the fit has not changed and they are not sheer like most other suits. My waist is about 33 inches. I bought 34 and everything is fine.
