Ideal for filling cylindrical clear glass vases (details below)

Beautiful. We will use them in the bottoms of 3.25 inch diameter cylindrical vases that will be filled with water and flowers and topped with 3 inch floating candles. We chose acrylic crystals over flat-bottomed glass marbles because we don't need a forklift to unload the decor for our rehearsal dinner. Since acrylic rocks are lightweight, be sure to securely anchor any flowers you submerge, as acrylic ice won't hold anything. A bit of math that might help someone else: Each three-pound bag contains 9 cups of acrylic ice cream. If you fill each 3.25" diameter vase with 1.25 cups of ice, you can get 2.4 centerpieces with three vases from each 3 lb bag (1.25 cups per vase x 3 vases per table = 3, 75 cups of acrylic ice needed on the table). I use a small handful of acrylic ice to stabilize and hide the wire base of the table holders so a small handful should come out of each table's allotted 3.75 cups. Take a few kitchen measuring cups with you. When you install, and don't round the tops of the cups, otherwise you will run out of acrylic ice. Place the flower with its weight; a retractable tea light (switch on first!) if you use one; then acrylic ice (protect your flower by adding ice); then water; then a floating candle.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Unsafe
