Heats up, only works on 3G speeds due to changes in Verizon network
I have had this MEPhI for many years. It works reliably for short-term use (e.g. when waiting at the airport terminal). It gets very hot and when that happens the data transfer rate is reduced to a minimum. I placed it in front of the vent and the cooling has greatly improved performance. One very important note: Verizon made a change to their network last year that puts this modem on 3G only, even though it supports 4G.
