They are nice and soft. Good padding and comfortable. The only thing I would warn you about is that the elastic band is stretchy enough to keep the sock on the foot, but there is no compression, which is typical of other hiking socks. I was working out in socks the other day and found my foot stuck to the tread on an incline, but my foot slipped into the sock. I wouldn't expect that from a hiking or gym sock with a more durable elastic band. However, once inside a shoe or boot, they seem fine. That might be a bit picky, but I thought I'd mention it.
