Works for AFR on 04 Rx8

I bought this because I wanted to control AFR on my 04 Rx8. There was little information on the web. It seems like most people install their own aftermarket sensors or don't even try to read the AFR unless their car is supercharged. AFR can easily detect a huge vacuum leak. The condition of the engine is terrible and this gauge gives me added confidence that a loose rubber hose is not going to kill my engine. The pressure gauge itself is quite Finnish. He's the only one on the market like him, so there's nothing you can do about it. It has an ambient light sensor to dim the display; I could easily connect to the headlight circuit if they would provide a wire for that. Also, he really needs constant nourishment. The manual says they use some rules to determine whether the meter should show up or go to sleep. So if you try to add a switchable power supply you will lose the memory function to see the last PID when you turn the car on and off. He really doesn't like being unplugged and seems to forget certain PIDs until an unfamiliar machine on and off the bike allows him to relearn. Overall a good sensor but I wish there were better options out there.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • It's ok
