This thing is great! Obtaining such sharp axes used to be a fairly laborious process, involving multiple rocks and slingshots. This compact device does its job well on its own. I'll keep my Lansky washing machine handy for machetes and such and for chipped repairs, but at the moment I'm using a GB washing machine for axes. I would also like to use it to maintain convex cut knives in the field. The design and form factor are also very good. Small enough to take with you into the field. The neoprene(?) cover not only protects the stone from falls, but also allows you to comfortably hold it with your fingers away from the edge.
