This is good for a small aquarium or terrarium.

I think it works fine. I simply bought the wrong stream. This would probably be fine in a 10 gallon glass terrarium (always keep an eye on the temperature to be sure). However, my tortoise house is much larger, the light holder area is taller and made of cedar to help dissipate heat. I can't even keep a temperature above 80 degrees with this lamp in a big and open case. I'll take 150 watts and see if that improves my little turtle's temperature in his house. The included digital thermometer works well.
