I have been using external tank filters for many years. I finally realized that I didn't have to suffer from scale/scale from fish water. I discovered this underwater filter! I love the bubbles it has, I feel it adds more flow to the aquarium and allows the fish to be in a more natural habitat. The bubbles ensure more oxygen-rich water. The price cannot match the quality. The downside is that the pump can be noisy with bubbles at times, but you have to adjust the height in the water, and that's better. Or you can use the "no bubbles" option and then it will be QUIET! I would recommend this filter.
