Yes, the bell is loud. If you're used to having a bell on your cat's collar, increase the volume and sensitivity by about 1 1/2. But that's not why I put an end to it. The bells on both collars I received were worn backwards. Consequently, I had to turn the collar upside down so that the face on the bell was facing out. Not a big deal, but still what I consider a product flaw. Having said that, I highly recommend these collars and have already shared the link with a friend who also has cats. Too sweet.
