Review on CanaKit Raspberry Pi 4 4GB Starter Kit: Complete with Clear Case and 4GB RAM by Jeff Zamora

Excellent kit. Everything arrived quickly, complete and working. Pi4 screams with 4GB or RAM. I did notice that it generates slightly more heat and uses more power than B. The included heatsinks are definitely a must have. In terms of power consumption, the Pi4 draws around 580mA at idle, while my 3B was only 230mA. ma. The Pi peaked at 900mA and the 3B peaked at 350 under heavy use. Some of my use cases require the Pi to drain its battery, so this difference in power consumption can play a big role. Depending on what you want to use, it might not be worth paying extra for a Pi4 for 3B or 3B Plus. . Running FreePBX, NAS server, OctoPrint and various ham radio software showed a slight performance difference between my 3B and 4. If you use it as a desktop environment or for heavy applications like Plex, you will notice a noticeable performance difference.
