Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Nintendo 2DS XL - White and Orange by Chris Long

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The new one doesn't work. Poorly made.

Received this new product in a box today. When I got it I tried turning it on but it didn't work. I found it odd for a brand new device, but it really doesn't matter if I just need to charge it; little inconvenience. It's been charging for three hours and it still won't turn on. I am assuming it is defective. That's what I expect from a used device, not from a new device. Also, the design of this thing is really schematic. I was surprised. The power button is in a strange place and you have to make some effort. The slot for the game and the SD card is hidden by this strange connector, which is very difficult to pull out, but at the same time it doesn't click firmly into place. feels cheap. The stylus is at the bottom center, which is perhaps the worst place to put it. The top screen seems to be poorly connected to the device and naturally wobbles where it should be. The buttons feel loose and cheap. This thing is inconvenient to use, clear and simple. Overall, this thing is so far from 3DS/3DSXL quality. I figured I'd grab one of these because I don't care about the 3D setting (which I just turned off) but it's actually embarrassing how bad it is. Although the 3DS is no longer in production, it is vastly superior in durability and quality. Some people complain that their hands get heavy with prolonged play. I have never experienced this slight inconvenience. If you're hesitating between this and the 3DS-XL, get the XL even if it's discontinued.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not for everyone
