When assembled it's a nice compact design for wall mounting. However, if you don't have an adapter or expect one to be built into this device, don't worry. Insert the adapter into the hole and wrap the cord inside the device. If you want to use both sockets, you're out of luck because this device completely covers BOTH sockets of a standard wall socket.
