I bought three of these units and they all worked perfectly throughout the Christmas period. One of them was wrapped around a post at the bottom of my stairs and its box was on the step. Very cheerful looking and easy to achieve. I attached two light hooks to the window door to secure the other two battery boxes and then routed the lighted wires down from the top of the window. I only used the non-flashing feature. Pressing a single button cycles through all three options. I turned them off when not in use; They lasted all season. That's exactly what I wanted.
