If it is comfortable to observe from the hands, then magnifications of more than 7 times are contraindicated. At magnification up to about 8x, the jitter is not strongly felt and the deterioration of the image is not so critical. All magnifications above result in a loss of resolution due to image shaking. It is better to invest in better quality 7x35 or 8x42 binoculars with a light weight, wide field that does not shake when viewed without a tripod, than to get larger binoculars that will drag and require a tripod. However, these binoculars often have a wider field. Looking through the keyhole is also not very comfortable. A 5 mm pupil is also sufficient, since not all pupils reach 7 mm, this also requires complete darkness, etc. And with a 5mm eye pupil, only a 35mm aperture will be used in 7x50 binoculars. But you will have to carry heavier binoculars with you, less stable in your hands due to their size, with a smaller field of view at the same magnification, at least the same with Nikon. I chose Nikon Action EX 7x35. There is another 2 times cheaper model Nikon Aculon 7x35 (weight 685 g), but it is simpler than the Action EX 7x35 series (800 g) in terms of optics and build quality. Differences: Aculon does not have a moisture-proof dust-proof case, no nitrogen inside, smaller prisms than Action EX, smaller eye relief 11.8mm versus 17.3mm. With a large eye relief, it is more comfortable to look, you do not need to cuddle up to the eyepieces. The Action EX has a more durable metal case with reliable mechanics.
