We were really struggling to find pants for my 8.5 year old so I was so glad they fit! I ordered them in every color. They're spring/fall so not for a cold winter, but they're great for now. My son has outgrown a size 8 and apparently the pant makers don't think we need a size 9. A lot of size 8/10 pants are too long but still tight around the waist, other pants go from size 8 to 10/12 which are huge and it's really frustrating. These medium sized championship pants fit me like the size 9 I needed. I think he's about 4ft 3in and up thick build but not husky. Good waist and length. Hooray! Hope this helps another frustrated parent!
