I bought 2 packs of these lamps. I put one in my bedroom closet and it reliably turns on when I open the closet door. And it turns off quickly when I do it in the closet. The downside is that I can't use the glass cover on the ceiling light. I had to leave the bulb empty or it wouldn't turn on automatically. However, I live with it for now. I installed a second lightbulb on the back porch. I tested its motion sensitivity and it turned on when I got within 15 or 20 feet of the porch. And it turned off quickly when I entered the room or left the territory. The downside is that if I'm indoors at night and want to take a quick peek out the door window, perhaps to investigate the noise, the bulb won't come on if I turn the internal switch off and then on again. With the motion sensor built into the light, you can quickly flip the switch and turn on the light. This is not the case when the sensor is built into the bulb. They weren't very expensive and they work well. However, I probably won't buy any more of them. I will focus on motion sensors that are either built into the fixture or part of the adapter module.
