excellent images and I have a lower resolution 7" model (imagine a 12" model!). The system is easy to navigate. Keep in mind that for side scanning you can't just add a second HV100 sensor to this device like you can on other models. If you think you need a second sensor due to the location of the engine you can buy other sensors but they cost a lot more. I literally had to mount mine on the bottom of the boat where I have (tapped and bolted) a metal support for the folding keel. Without a transom to block the water it loses signal above 15-20mph but I did 40mph and the mount holds up (until I hit something in the water). I will find another solution soon. Like I said, though, the picture quality is excellent. In my opinion better picture than the competition. 3D works too and helps you see where the fish are on the side scan in relation to the boat (fish on the side scan is not easy to see). I also had to speak to tech support. The first person was in the call center and read the same documents as me, they put me through to a few other guys and one of them REALLY knew what he was talking about. He was very helpful.
